Pauline Setalla became a member of the Frog Woman/Feather Woman families through marriage and had 10 children, including Stetson Setalla. Many of her children followed in her footsteps as potters, preserving her legacy. She was raised in the village of Mishongovi on the Hopi Reservation and learned pottery making from her mother-in-law, Agnes Navasie, and sister-in-law, Eunice Navasie, using traditional techniques and materials such as native clay, vegetal paints, and sheep dung firing.
