Crow Springs was discovered in 1909 near Tonopah, Nevada. This mine produces a nice blue/green mix turquoise with a blackish brown matrix. The Crow Springs mine produces a high percentage of green tone turquoise. It has a pretty tan and brown matrix composed of rhyolite. The Crow Springs mine has gone through several owners over the years so production has been sporadic.
The mine has reopened under new ownership recently and the product has become available again. Because it is not frequently mined and because of the unusual and beautiful stone patterns, it is considered collectible.
